here are the coordinates 46 06 10.81 / 88 02 55.65 i was looking around on google earth. i found this. it's a mile or two from my house.  the google earth view isn't good enough to tell what it is. i'm guessing its a lake. but the photo seems to show a lot of dirt work surrounding it. maybe a recent man made lake. perhaps the picture i saw was a lake during a drought  anybody out there able to post a good picture of it? |

Sorry Dirty, I can't get Google Earth to load-I think it has something to do with being on a satellite hookup.  Since you're in MI, could it be a missile silo? I spent the first 21 1/2 yrs of my life in the lower peninsula & there were missile silo's all over the area. I hope someone can post a picture, I'd like to know what it is also.  |

i can't get the google image to post. i did manage to email the image to myself. the picture is just to pixelated (sp?). hoping someone has a better resource. it could be a landing site for the mothership, to take me home  |

I couldn't get it either Dirty...
But if you PM me closer to where you are, I may be able to tell ya what it is. Does the "Lake" have a name?

Terraserver said it couldn't use those numbers for some reason...but if you type in your address to terraserver usa then you should be able to see at least another view of the area! If it IS a missile silo they may have it classified?!

cool, Nan, i found it. it is a small lake. the terrasever pics were taken in 1998. i don't know when the google earth photo was taken. the terraserver pic makes it look like a small lake surrounded by forest. it appears that shortly before the google earth pic. there was a drought or extensive dirt work. when i have the time i'll hike back there and take a look. glad it's a lake. disappointed it's not something sinister.  |

With your weather it isn't a lake...it is a large outdoor skating rink! LOL! Glad that you found it. When you look above our house it looks like the whole place has been burned off! Over about 20 acres from us used to be an old tire dump and it made the aerial view totally black. They cleaned it up and now it is just a nice open pasture. Where we built you can't see anything but trees where there are now 3 houses in about a 100 acre radius!
