You know, that's a great idea! It hadn't occured to me to do that, because the other ones do fine without it, but next time, I'll put little Miss Brandywine in a CAGE! LOL!

We had to replant after a freak hail storm shattered everything in the garden. We have lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeno peppers, radishes, spinach, strawberries, basil, rosemary, chives, zucchini, yellow squash is not doing good as so much rain, not enough sun this year, corn, watermelons, and Israel melons.

Something made clean away with both my tomato plants. No clues or evidence left behind. No mole tunnels, no deer or raccoon tracks, no stem left, nothing. I wonder if it's too late to replant tomatoes, anybody know?
Otherwise, my peas, beans, and radishes are growing pretty well. I've been really busy building shelves—and now, painting them—and there's been so much rain that I still haven't planted the rest of my seeds. Good thing we have a fairly long season down here in zone 8.....

I'd go ahead and give it a try. They'll be very late, of course, but being in Zone 8 should give you enough remaining season to still get a crop. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
