I really do hope some of my online friends will come down/over and visit. Kaza, maybe once your kids are out on their own; you'll consider a nice warm southern destination for your next homestead. Land is much cheaper and you don't have a lot of neighbors. Of course you'd have to turn in your long undies for tank tops & shorts. what kind of Michigander would I be without my longjohns??? Next thing you'll be saying is I'd have to turn in my snomobile boots and snow pants!!! [glow=purple,2,300] Kaza [/glow]

And the boots would be good snake stompers!!

Congratulations! I don't want you moving so far away though. I might actually make it to Memphis someday but I doubt I'll ever get as far as Texas. I guess I'll have to settle for pictures!

Kathy,
I wasn't really hinting at coming out there (it did sound like it though?!) but since you offered, maybe....... Nappy

I'm happy for you Kathy. I loved the pictures. It feels wonderful being a land owner doesn't it? I know you will enjoy being on your own property and doing your own thing. Peace of mind is worth more than anything. tnborn

Starfire, don't feel bad, I missed this, too! Congratulations, Kathy! I'm SO HAPPY for you! I know how "cramped" you've been in that apartment. This is indeed good news to hear! ;D ~Lannie

I guess a few of us have to crawl out from under our rocks once in a while. LOL I missed this too! Congrats Kathy and I want you to know that the windmill is the one thing that is missing from my farm. LOVE that windmill.

Oh it's at least a year off. This is raw land so there's a lot to do. I have to put in either a well or holding tanks, pull in the electricity, I'd like to get it fenced and some raised beds in not to mention some fruit & nut trees. Oh and I guess either a house or even a pad for a travel trailer would be nice! Can you tell the homesteady type activities are a higher priority for me?? I'm supposed to go out to TX for 9 days starting April 14 but I didn't realize that was Easter Weekend-so I may be changing my time frame.
