O.k. I went to the dollar store to pick up some milk. want to guess the price? How about 4.20? Eggs are higher than I ever remember. I want eat those nasty things that are in the store. Bread and other things are through the roof. Shelled corn at the farm store 6.20 for a 50lb bag. Gheesh. Gas is 3.29 a gallon. Gheesh, talk about depressing.

i agree that the prices are rising.
however i actually think that the prices are rising at a slower pace than they could be.
as bad as the price of gas is, diesel is a good fifty cents a gallon more expensive. our country survives on diesel. ships, trucks and trains.
combine that with the quickly becoming worthless dollar. i think it could be a lot worse right now.
to bad the federal reserve is to busy looking at their trees they can't see our forest.

The prices are rising here too but not as bad or as quickly as some mention. Gasoline was $3.04/gal today and diesel was $3.89/gal. I think you are right dirty, diesel fuel is what literally keeps this country running and it would take too long and too much $$ to switch everything over within a reasonable time frame. Eggs are $1.79 at the store and $1.50 at the farm Flour is higher than at the holidays, $1.69 for 5# Sugar was $1.44/4# yesterday Coffee is about $1 higher per 34 oz can. So far here, nothing is hugely increased but add them all up and it's quite a hit on the wallet. I have noticed that soda's such as Pepsi and Sprite are much higher; I used to splurge on a 2 ltr Diet Pepsi for 99cents. At Christmas 2007, I got Diet Pepsi as low as 88 cents a bottle. Now that same 2ltr is $1.79!! I could understand the increase on the regular sugared varieties since sugar is higher but my artifically sweetened one went up too.

Eggs and milk are higher for me. Sugar's 'good sale' price is 1.49, with a limit of one. When did that happen?
I'm wondering what our local egg man is going to charge when he returns. He was always a little bit higher than Costco's organic feed eggs, but the eggs were so much better. He was at 2.50 a dozen, I think. I don't know how much higher I can go, with everything else so expensive.

Haven't been grocery shopping, but dh and I stopped into the gun shop to pick up ammo to top off our stash. 50 box of 380's went from $24.99 up to $31.00, and 50 box of 40 caliber went from $22.00 to $29.99 we were surprised at this because we just bought some a couple months ago. A 100 box of 22 shells went from $6.00 up to $12.00.
The man who owns the gun shop is a wealth of info, and we got to talking and we asked him if he sees more people buying up weapons and he said no, that gun sales were way down and HE believes that the people who are worried about the future already have as many guns as they need, but are stocking up on ammo instead.
So that is my warning....with diesel prices continuing to rise, might want to stock up on ammo before the prices go up even more.

I have thousands of rounds of 22 ammo but only a few boxes of 30-30's and those little buggers are expensive. Pretty soon, it's going to be mighty expensive to do any practice shooting! Each one of those 380's is running about 62 cents now. Has anyone bought ammo online from Sportsmans Guide? I used to go to their store in MN when I lived in WI but I've never gotten any of their gun related items through the mail/UPS.
