I was asked to talk to a group of survivalist about how you can raise your kids to be kids but also prepare them for when the shtf.
I've typed out what I am going to say, and I am really leery about putting it out on this forum because its an open forum, but I do want to post it because I think it is important in this day and age. It might just give you a little more confidence in your kids ability to handle life events when you know they are prepared.
Anywho...I'm going to post it in general with the title "My speech" for the members, in case anyone wants to read it.

I don't have kids but my neighbor kids are like family. My neighbor (single mom) and I have discussed banding and staying together should hard times fall. I already share my garden plot with them and have the two older kids help plant some things like spuds.
I would like to hear what you and that group have to say.
