Ok, we have a huge pit with perfect coals and a pole barn over it.
Got a row of 8' tables with red and white checkered plastic tableclothes from Wally World duct taped down in case of wind.
We have 6 lawn chairs, so you might oughta fetch one along when you come.
Got disposible trays, cups and cutlery.
Got garbage cans for the throw-aways and the aluminum cans - and got a big bucket for scraps.
Got an old cast iron tub full of ice and soft drinks under the tree.
Got a couple of No. 3 washtubs with ice and watermelons under the first table, figure we can pull them out after a bit.
I've made egg salad and cole slaw.
DH has an emu on the grill and was looking for some help moving the keg out of the back of the truck to under the pole barn; but decided that was just too much work so he just backed the truck up and dropped the tail gate to use as a table.

You forgot the grilled veggies and mushrooms, Auntie, or maybe I just am not understanding...I'd have to bring aluminum foil so as not to contaminate them with meat juices...Deb (Bet you can tell my friends just love me dearly for that thought. )

I will bring a huge bowl of potato salad. And if pets are welcome I am bring my dog on a leash of course. Can we have an old fashion potato sack hop? Is that what you call 2 people puts one leg in a potato sack and hop to the finish line?

Is that what you call 2 people puts one leg in a potato sack and hop to the finish line? I think you have that confused with a three legged race, but maybe it is regional? Around here, you have both legs in a potato sack and whoever hops across the finish line first wins. A three legged race involves tying the two inside legs together and the people work as a team to cross the finish line. This is especially fun for fathers and sons. The wheel barrow race is where one player holds the other persons legs and they(the barrow) walk on their hands to the finish line. We will also organize a game of Rover Red Rover if enough children come and want to play. We have horseshoes and ring toss - and later a watermelon seed spitting contest.

You guys are so very funny. I guess I am just used to wherever I go or whoever I am with being the oddball, especially up here in the midwest, meat and potato country. Go figure. I have been teased my entire life, so I am quite used to it. It takes nerves of steel to be a veggie person I always told my girls, especially considering the lack of B Vitamins. Deb
