Do you have a favorite cookbook?
One you use all the time, an old reliable?
Of course mine is the one I did for the family last year. But I also have an old church cookbook (that has fallen apart) and my Paula Dean cookbooks.

Paula Deen is great!! When I find a good recipe that has DH's stamp of approval, I'll copy it onto a card and put it in my recipe box for easy finding later. I read cookbooks like novels so they are scattered though the house and stacked beside the bed. Very rarely do they stay in the kitchen for very long There is a Louisiana home-cooking cookbook that I turn to time after time. It's got great recipes in it, ones that real people serve to their families, not fancy restaurant recipes with a thousand ingredients that can only be found in a gourmet grocery. /VM

I am a self taught cook. When I was first married I bought a Betty Crocker cookbook to teach myself and I treasure it. It is falling apart and actually has food splatters in it ,where I was cooking and hit the book while mixing things. DS thinks I am crazy to keep it but I don't care.
