Condiments are food substances that are added to foods to improve or heighten their natural flavor. The term 'seasoning' is usually used for items added during cooking, and 'condiment' usually refers to those flavorings added at the table. However the terms are frequently used interchangeably.
Some general classes of condiments are Mayonnaise and its variation, ketchup and its variations, prepared mustards, seasoning sauces, salad dressings, vegetables (onion, chives etc.) and salt.
The three most popular condiments in German restaurants are mustard, horseradish, and applesauce
What is your favorite condiment?

For taste alone it has to be ketchup.
For cooking and versatility I would have to pick mayo.
For a great sandwich with good quality lunchmeat it has to be stone ground mustard.

Anything considered a condiment. I am kinda partial to salsa, horseradish, and ranch dressing though.

Interesting, Starfire...I guess I never thought of veggies like onions and chives as a condiment, but if that is the case, that would be my vote, and what I use most often. What about shredded cheese? Does that count, too? I am just not a ketchup person. Once in a very long while I put it one french fries, and I never have done mustard, mayo or any of that. Something about creamy things like that and my fear of eggs. I don't know. Deb

I hate ketchup and butter. (shudder) Like mayo and horseradish on sandwiches. Dip my fries in mustard. A sandwich isn't a sandwich if it doesn't have lettuce and pickles on it. My families favorite is when I mix mayo, mustard and a dash of ketchup together. Sometimes dice up some dill pickles in that too. For anyone in the Pacific NW, there is a restaurant (Burgerville) that has a secret sauce that is to die for and this is a try at that. Although it tastes nothing like Burgervilles.

Uh...applesauce is a condiment? You mean, like if I put a little dab of it on my toast? Anyway, I guess I like spicy mustard, pepper and pico the best. (Why do I have to keep reminding people that catsup will kill you?? Remember...catsup and raisins....both are evil.) /VM

Maybe it's apple butter and not apple sauce? My apple "butter" always came out like extra sweet apple sauce...
