I make mine as a casserole, sort of I boil them with the skins, then skin them. Mash them with butter and a little milk, put them in a casserole dish make a brown suger, butter and chopped pecan glaze and put that a little think on the top and bake.
It's yummy.
How do you all do yours?
I am not at all a fan of marshmellows, I know some folks use them. I think my mom did then like that for a couple years.

I didn't even know I LIKED sweet potatoes until just recently. My mom and grandma used to put them in a casserole dish with about a pound of brown sugar and a bag of marshmallows. YUK! Even as a kid I couldn't eat that! Just this past summer, I bought a couple at the store, baked them and served them with just butter on them - nothing else. I've never tasted anything so good in my life! LOL! When you can taste the sweet potato, it's actually GOOD! I found it's the same with butternut squash. The squash is good if you leave all the sugary stuff off it! ~Lannie
