Probably should google this first, but thought I would throw it out here. I have been hearing that the new fad is having deep fried green beans instead of french fries at restaurants.
Anyone know how to do them? Are they good?

I don't doubt it. They even have fried macaroni & cheese now!
I would guess you would do it either in a batter or in a flour or corn meal base. Just like every other fried thing. It doesn't sound great but I never thought I would like fried green tomatoes or okra either. ;D

I've had them; they tasted & looked like they were batter dipped then fried. They were good-I am guessing they'd been steamed just till crisp tender then breaded and fried. I happen to like batter fried rutabaga's, green peppers, eggplant and green tomatoes-I think I'd be happy with a cat turd if it was batter fried!

Oh, Kathy, that's hysterical!! (I understand because I'd eat a chocolate-dipped cat turd without giving it a second thought. ;D )

lol, that is hilarious!! I like fried food too, but you guys are pushing it on the contents, lol.
I'll have to try these, I bet I can use the same batter I use for mushrooms.

Anyone know how to do them? Are they good? I had them at my families christmas gathering. Just regular green beans deep fried and then tossed with an almond sesame sauce. They were tasty! But I think the baked potato I had was better for me for just being baked.

I saw a tv commercial last night. TGIFridays showed a shot of a fried green bean being dipped in sauce. Maybe they are the ones that started this?
