I have had it once in my life and it was horribly salty. We have eatten the corned beef in the can in hash and stuff but the one in the butchers case was awful.
Did I do something wrong or get a bad one?

I love Kosher Corned Beef but the raw ones you buy and cook at home NEVER end up tasting anything like the stuff from the Deli. I hope someone has a great cooking technique; so we can both learn how to make a less salty but tasty homemade version.

Hmmm. I've never had one be too salty. If it was pre-corned maybe they put too much salt on it. I have always cooked mine in a slow boiling pot of water for a long time. About half an hour before serving I add the veggies. Any or all of the following, cabbage, onions, carrots, potatoes. If there is meat left over it is great sliced for sandwiches.
