It's, like, six-alarm jelly I'm not kidding. I must have accidentally used the manly-man version. The recipe said not to seed the peppers and not to strain the mixture. I did the cream cheese and cracker thing but was wondering...is there anything else I can use this for? /Via

What about using it as a glaze on pork chops or chicken kabobs? You might also try adding some to a BBQ sauce recipe or even put some in boughten BBQ sauce. It would kick it up a bit.

Thanks, Kathy! I could have thought of those, too, but the description of how hot it was started a mind movie in my head... painting Via's hot pepper jelly onto cows and watching it burn the hair off... then my brain cramped and I was reduced to a gibbering, hooting shadow of my former self! Now that you mention it, that would be mighty tasty on grilled pork chops I bet. Paint it on the pork chops, Via. They (hopefully) have no hair to burn off! I can't help myself! These mind movies are horrible, especially the re-runs! ~Lannie (Betcha never thought jalapeno pepper jelly could inspire such mirth, didja?)

Okay, I'm very relieved to hear there might be hope for my jelly. The idea of using it on meat sounds wonderful, thank you both! Don't worry, Lannie, I live in a perpetual state of brain cramp. It's kind of comfy /Via

This years jalapenos are really hot-I think it's the weather that influenced the heat level. Mine are really hot too, but now I'll know to decrease the amount and maybe add a few banana peppers to calm it down a bit. Via, did you ever think you'd be the recipe guinea pig?? Lannie, you're in a mood tonight!

You culd save it for the winter when you will want to be hot but not now it is to hot outside.
