I live in an area where the farmers produce commercial pumkins for large companies such as 'Libbys'. I always get a few to put into the freezer for use during the winter months. I would like recipes for pumpkins....but no more desserts! All of the recipes I have are good, but fattening! I want recipes that are for something not so sweet! My diet no longer allows sweets. Has anyone ever 'really' tried pumpkin soup? If so, is it good? My diet is restricted to low or no fats, meats, etc. so I want something good for me and tasty, if at all possible?

I absolutely hate pumpkin, so I can't help. I like butternut squash, though, so maybe you could try something similar to what I do with the squash, which is bake it until it's done, scoop out the pulp, mix with cooked, crumbled sausage (not sure if you can eat that if you're on low fat) walnuts, and herbs, topped with cheese (or not) and baked again for a bit to warm it all through. Maybe you could invent something using the baked pumpkin flesh, mixed up with some other good things and popped into a casserole.
I don't know if you're a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants cook or if you need a specific recipe, but if you're in a creative mood, you could try something like the casserole idea, with whatever foods are safe for you.

I'm sorry I missed this before but I like to take pumpkin and cube it up (raw) with the "guts" and "skin" removed and toss it in chicken soup. It sound weird but YUMMY, the 'sweet' goes with the cooking of the soup and it's similar to a carrot.
