Daffodils, Crocus & Narcissus bulbs here in Memphis? I got a great deal on nice firm, healthy looking bulbs at the Dollar General a couple of days ago. I know up north in WI & MI we planted in the fall but I've never planted any bulbs this far south. I don't even care if they reproduce next year(although that would be nice)-I'd just like some spring flowers on my patio this spring. ;D If I plant them this week is that too soon or too late for flowers this spring?

I'd plant them as soon as possible. You might still get flowers from them if you get them in the ground soon. I have daffodils up because of the warm weather we have had.

Kathy, I’m not sure but do those bulbs have to have a cooling off period? I received some Hyacinth bulbs for Christmas and the directions said to chill in a dark, 40-45 degree location for 8 weeks. In a garage, refrigerator or outside in the shade depending on your climate. I would think your bulbs would need some of the same.
