Lucky you!!!! I have to wait another month to even plant my seeds. Funny though, your 'maters sprout and ya have snow outside the window. ;D Do you start yours inside or do you have a greenhouse?

Yeah, it is funny. It snows and they sprout! I WISH I had a green house but nope. These are in the kitchen, leaning like crazy towards the window. Mom, DH and I are each rotating the tray when we walk into the kitchen. I meant to start some other seeds, but have not yet. Next week I think.....

Good for you, auntie. I have been fighting each of the last few days to hold myself off from starting anything yet for a bit since it's so cold up here. You know what? I was so proud that I was able to stretch the last of my fresh homegrown tomatoes out until I finally ate the last two on Feb. 2, and if I hadn't been under the weather and made a pot of homemade soup the week before...Next yr. I will have to try to beat that record. Other years I have only ever made it until Christmas. Deb ;D

No, auntie, I never have, although they say that works. I just line mine up on a counter in one of my cooler porches that doesn't freeze with the stem end down. Once they get almost ready, I bring them in the kitchen for a few days, and set them in a bowl on my counter. The more ripe ones, I believe, release gases that hasten the ripening of the others they come in contact with. I also don't have the patience to wrap individually in newspapers or any of those other time-consuming things we read about. I have done this for years and years. Before I moved here, I would keep them in my basement. I have a basement, but I just hate going down there in this house. Don't ask. Deb
