So what are everyone's favorite Heriloom Veggies?
Best flavor for a tomato is an old Orange German Oxheart tomato.

I have looked at them, but have not tried to grow those melons. My Clime is fairly cool and they would not ripen fast enough.
I have had good luck (at the old farm) with miniature pumpkins and the French reddish ones. Oh,, I just can't remember their names right now.
Was going to try one of those miniature type water mellons this summer.
What kind of clime do you have Tnborn?

Berge, tn is hot and humid. The winters are mild. June, July and August are terrible because of the humidity. tnborn

Hummm...
In San Diego (we were stationed there for 3 years) we had to grow them in winter/spring or Fall/winter because it got so hot.
Have you tried growing them on big mounds covered with back plastic every where the vine would grow? The once the melons started to develope...finding a strong rubber maid box or some such to set the growing melon on? That way they stay dry. Even known people that would put little water proof tents over them to keep them dry, to get a good melon. ;D
