Speaking of identified fruit trees in my yard...
We have an apple tree that has smallish, green, tart apples that ripen and fall early in the year, usually around July. My SIL calls them June apples but I can't find any reference to this kind of apple on the internet.
Do any of you know what kind of tree this might be? The apples are no bigger than a tennis ball.

Sounds like a Granny Smith Apple. Excellent for baking,, and I like eating them fresh...yum! I do not see them for sale much any more...which is sad.

Well, that was going to be my next question (baking)! I'll have to give it a try this year.
I also have a recipe for Apple Pie in a Jar that might work also.
Thanks!
