What is it about homegrown potatoes, no matter what the variety, that makes them so special? But a person just can't peel a new potato. That is a shame. My college daughter was here for 4 days recently. While she is here, she usually does most of the cooking. I thought she would have a fit that I didn't buy old ugly potatoes from the store, because she always likes to peel her potatoes no matter what she is making. I realized she must be growing up, I realized, because I had dug some homegrown Yukon Gold potatoes just before she came to visit. She made our favorite Italian Herbed Potatoes and cheerfully left the skins on. Deb
