It's 34 degrees right now, but most the snow's melted (again). I am just DYING to get out there and garden, but I know I have at least a month to wait. How are all ya'lls gardens doing? Kaza[/size] ~The Angelic Mod~

Me too..though for different reasons. Hubby needds to get those logs out from behind the ugly shed. Then we need to move my artichoke plants. Have money fall out of the sky for the concrete fake stone so he can build seat high raised beds. Then put down that blk weed barrier on the paths and put that 1/4 minus gravel down on the paths..that way I will not have to worry about weeding. Yes, I am itching too garden too....sigh ~~~~ Kaza you know you can start many seeds indoor 4 to 6 weeks early. That would give you the gardening fix for a bit!

If the weather holds this week I will start planting on Mon. Missed my first opp. last month when the temp was in the 70's for a few weeks. Wanna get a bed burned for greens, and plant some taters and onions. Got a young lady coming out to give me a hand.

Kaz, do you like to weed? We always need plenty of that done. Look at the bright side. We get an earlier start than you, but our gardens usually burn up before the end of summer.

Hey, Kaz, how 'bout South Dakota?? I'm getting ready to go out and make some sort of attempt to control the Mugwort That Is About To Eat South Dakota. The Motherwort is almost as bad. Sheesh, there doesn't look to be any room for weeds out there this spring! I'm going to work on a small section at a time, otherwise I'll never start because the job's too big. At least it's only the big herb garden that's bad - the veggie garden has been tilled and so far, the chickens are keeping the weeds down. They're gonna be PO'd for sure when I lock up the garden and they can't get in there anymore. Either that or I'm going to find out just how high a chicken can fly! LOL! If we don't get any more rain for the next week or so, then I'll have Rich till the beds once more to work in all that good chicken compost I put out there a few weeks back, and then I'll start planting my cool-weather stuff. We might have a few more nights that dip below freezing, but by mid-April, it's usually safe to plant stuff like cabbage, dill, radishes, celery, and spinach here. I just hope we can keep the deer out this year. ~Lannie

I've got it... Kaz's "Weed and Hoe Tour" across the USA. Sign up now and Kaz will stop at your garden on her travels through the gardens of our country! (Maybe we need to drop the hoe part..you know what happened to Imus)
