Rosemary Cheese Fingers
2 oz. butter 2 cups quick-cooking oats (not instant) 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, grated 1 egg, beaten 1 - 2 T. fresh rosemary, chopped pinch of cayenne pepper (optional) pinch of salt, to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt butter in a saucepan. Place remaining ingredients in a bowl, pour the melted butter over and mix well.
Press the mixture into a greased 8x8 square baking pan. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Cool slightly and cut into strips, or "fingers."
These are pretty good as a snack with a cup of herb tea.

Those sound really good! I like those savory snacks; they're a nice change from the sweet, usually sugar laden ones. The only thing I'd change is I'll have mine with coffee. I've never found an herb tea that I truly enjoyed.

Most herb teas are an acquired taste. For instance, I love chamomile tea, but the first time I gave a cup of it to my ex he put it down and said "Ugh. This tastes like DIRT!" There's just no accounting for taste!
But honestly, I can't believe you don't like peppermint tea! I thought everybody liked that!

I love the taste of peppermint but I have a strange respiratory reaction to it. I immediately get short of breath and start to wheeze. The same thing happens from exposure to eucalyptus.

How weird! But then, you're probably the weirdest person I've ever known! LOL! Stick to coffee, girl! ~Lannie

Lannie, I think coffee has replaced my white blood cells and thinks anything weaker such as tea is an invader and attacks!! And like I told another member-I'm not weird-I'm unique!!

Likewise, Kathy, although this is bit of thread drift at this point. Sorry. I can't function without strong coffee every morning. I used to drink so much herb tea in the evenings, I am actually starting to think I am immune to it now, although that is not the term I want. Deb
