My cinnamon basil & Siam basil are both starting to bloom. Am I supposed to pinch off the blooms since the plants haven't been in the ground all that long.

Yes, pinch off the blooms. Herbs taste better if you do. ;D

Oh, I LOVE basil blossoms! They're so sweet! ;D My basil is still little -- I can't wait till I can start having fresh basil sandwiches with flowers for dessert. ~Lannie

Dumb gardening question # 43-how big will Cinnamon basil get? It's still growing and it's already about 30" tall. Should I cut back on the manure tea feedings? ;D

The Attack of the Killer Cinnamon Basil! Maybe you should cut back on their "tea" a bit, Kathy. I haven't grown that particular variety, so I don't know how tall it's supposed to get, but that seems pretty tall for any basil. In fact, if my basil were that tall, I think I'd whack them all off at the knees, use the tops for something, and let the bottoms grow some more. I wish I had some of that basil right now! ;D ~Lannie

My basil's only about 2 1/2 inches high and I started it over a month ago. But it's growing faster now that it's in a larger pot...my oregano and mint didn't grow at all, so had to get plants already started from a store...oh well, but I'm keeping the things alive this winter since seeds have been so bad lately for nearly everything.
