The crockpot is one of the best kitchen appliances invented. Not only does it put out a great meal it also makes a great hold warm oven. So many busy women say they don't have time to cook but I think anyone can find the 5 minutes it takes to throw all the ingredients in the pot.

The only reason I don't use mine more often is I so dislike cleaning it. Mine is an all-in-one unit. I saw an ad for some newer product...disposable crockpot liners, foil I think? I don't think I am brave enough to try them, though. Deb

I used to have one like that, pain to clean. A few years back I bought one of the new style where the ceramic pot lifts out for easy cleaning. Much, much better!

My first one was the all in one and it was a pain to clean. I couldn't understand why everyone thought they were such time savers since it took so long to clean it. I have one now that has the removable crock-now I agree; what a great invention!! ;D I use mine much more often in the spring/summer and fall. In the winter unless I'm going away for the day, I love the extra warmth the oven gives off. ;D

I used one of those crockpot liners for the first time! Loveitloveitloveit! I hated cleaning the crockpot even if it lifts out and I have a dishwasher. They usually get so messy I have to still scrub a bit. Now I just lift the liner out and throw it out. I did save one though for when I make a pot of "ick" for the outside kitties. They won't mind.

Thanks to both of you. I'll have to look for them at the store. Like I said, I have only seen the ads for the liners. Deb ;D

I got some plastic liners (made by Reynold's I think?) and it had a rebate with it so I was only out the cost of a stamp.
I haven't used any yet because the deal is that I cook and DH scrubs pots and pans. He's a darn good potscrubber so I will let him do his thing and save the liners for a bad mess.
Do you spray your crockpots with Pam first? I found that really cuts down on the scrubbing.
I just bought a 2nd crockpot last week. My big one is great for chili, etc. but I got a smaller (3 qt) one when I just want to make enough dinner for me and DH. It should also come in handy during the holidays when I do a lot of cooking.

Umm-Harumph (clearing throat, sheepishly). I have five crockpots. Yes, I am a crockpot addict. I cook in mine all the time.
