3 cups Fritos Brand Corn Chips 1 large onion, chopped 1 can (19 ounces) chili 1 cup, American or Cheddar cheese, shredded
Place 2 cups of Frito Brand Corn Chips in a baking dish. Arrange chopped onion and half of shredded cheese on the corn chips. Pour chili over onions and cheese. Top with the remaining corn chips and shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Serves: 4-8
Mrs. Daisy Doolin (mother of Elmer Doolin, the founder of Frito Company) was the cook and Elmer was the salesman for the corn chips. Nobody seems to know just when some talented cook combined Fritos with chili in the casserole dish but it is Frito’s most asked for recipe.

sf, this brings back memories of football games when I lived in Texas. The concession stand people would have steaming crocks of chili standing by. When you ordered, they'd slice down the side of a "personal" sized Frito bag, ladle the hot chili in and add cheese and sour cream on top. You'd grab a spoon and eat right out of the bag. Yum!! I make this at home in a similar way except I make my crockpot chili in the morning then throw everything together for a quick meal when we get home from work. I think I will use your method when I make it to take over to my MIL's because my "throw together" version isn't so pretty. /VM
