This may sound silly since it's very simple. I was on another forum and the subject came up and now I want to make it! But I don't have a pork roast for ONCE! I put a large (6lb?) pork roast in the Crockpot, fat layer down, sprinkled with Natures Seasoning (any basic salt, pepper, garlic, onion will do). I usually rinse the pork first so it has about 1/4 cup water still hanging around. I put foil under the lid of my crock pot and let the joker do it's thing. (if I feel creative I'll slice an onion in it). I cook on high for the first hour or two (heard that if you put a big piece on low you can get food poisioning ) Turn it to low and cook 'til dinner. Dunno how long (I am bad at recipes SORRY). I have it with potatoes and veggies. Then, the next day I pull the fat off of the meat and shred the pork with my fingers and mix with BBQ sauce, reheat and have sammiches! YUMMY Several people on the other board said they've never heard of such and I love it so I thought I would share

That sounds easy enough and tasty too! I have a pork roast so I'm going to try it tomorrow after the big old hunk of meat thaws out! I have a great chipotle BBQ sauce that would be really good with pulled pork. Hmmm now I'll have to make slaw-I love slaw on my BBQ sandwiches. Thanks!! ;D

Yum! I make something similar but I put the fat layer up. I was told the fat would sort of melt and run through the meat, keeping it moist. Now that I think about it, it probably just makes the meat more fatty I love crock pots! /VM

Isn't it funny how there's so much conflicting information about cooking? I just put the fat down so the meat doesn't stick! LOL I love easy stuff! Chipolte sounds great! DH doesn't like spicy food so I have to make 'hot' and 'sweet' batches.
Oh, and as a bonus, I use denture cleaning tablets to clean the crockpot. The meat tends to make it tough to clean. Two tablets and it fizzes to a beautiful shine.
I hope those things go on sale again!

I was at the Dollar Tree the other day stocking up on toothpaste and floss. ;D I noticed they had some off brand of denture cleaning tablets for $1 a box-does it have to be a specific brand or will any fizzy ones work? That's a good tip. I found that my biggest one-8qt gets stained when I make crock pot applebutter. I'm not sure if it's the apples or the spices but it darkens i

I use generic and the cheapest I can find. They disolve food and get off the scorched water stain I get with hard water. That's better than my dishwasher! They also disinfect! I find that if it doesn't work, I probably put too much water and not enough tablets. 2 works great in my crockpot.
