Well, I went out for a ride today on Dyfra. Rode for awhile,, but saw a flash in the woods. Am thinking to myself,, well just wonderful. Wasn't sure what is was. Dyfra zoned,, but at least kept part of her thinking side of her brain going, instead of just wigging out like normal.
Went on a little farther... and she was really good about it, was a deer carcase. From behind its front elbow back all the meat was gone,, the innards was still there. Don't know if a Poacher took it down last night or what. The cuts looked too clean to just be a predator..but did not stick around too long to look it over, not without having a Rifle with me. Was killed last night some time.
Had her face the predators in the woods...told her it was best to go after them and not a good idea to run away.
So she didn't try to run. She listened to me...was really, really surprised. We walked calmly back to the house.
She wanted to tolt when we got near the gait to the 2 acre pasture,, but I made her stop face towards where I know the predators are. Once she was willing to listen I let her walk on. Walked around in the 2 acre pasture for awhile.
Was glad she did not wig out...because we could of had Coyotes on us if she did. These Coyotes are bold (Just hoping it is just Coyotes and not the cougar). Or maybe she understand that,, not sure.
Just glad I did not let the horses out in the main pasture this morning. They are also not going out until Hubby can get the carcase off the place or buried.
Am just so very glad she did as good as she did, with what we ended up near.
