I assume she's fine, but we can't bring her home until we can pay for her, which won't be until sometime in June. So I have no additional information on her right now, sorry. Of course, I'll let everyone know when we DO finally get her home, but right now we're still saving up.

Okay, we finally bought a horse, but it's not the one we thought we were getting. Day before yesterday, I saw an ad in one of the free classified papers that come in the mail that was advertising "Honest, ranch-broke geldings" for sale, and they were local (gasp!). I called and found out they wanted $2,000 each for the geldings, but they had a 17-year old Quarter mare also for sale. She was a ranch horse for 10 years, then a broodmare for the last 6 or 7, so she hasn't been ridden much recently, but at least she knows what a saddle and bridle are. So we went last night to look at her and Rich liked her and she seemed to like him. She has a two-week old filly on her, so she was a bit worried about us "strangers," but she calmed down really well after about 20 minutes or so. They only wanted $500.00 for her, so Rich wrote a check and they made up a Bill of Sale. They're going to bring her over on Sunday or Monday, WITH the baby. I expressed my concern to the owners about being responsible for the baby (she's so cute, but SO LITTLE!), and they said not to worry. If anything serious comes up, we should just call them, otherwise it's no big deal. The only problem is, it's going to be really hard to give them their filly back in August or September when they come to get her. Anyway, this mare is HUGE. The lady told me on the phone she thought she was about 15.2, but I swear she's 17 hands if she's an inch. She's way taller than Aiesha and probably outweighs her by 500 pounds. Rich will need a ladder to get on her! She's a flea-bitten grey, which is not my favorite color (I hate trying to keep a white horse clean!), but she's sweet and calm and sound, so I think we did good. I'm just hoping there's not too much bickering when the new girl and her baby show up. Aiesha can be quite nasty when around a new horse for the first time, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If it came down to a fight, that big mare could kick Aiesha from here to China! I'm not kidding, that girl is a BIG girl! So, the search has finally ended, and I think Rich and Wind will be happy together. At least she won't be too small for him! ~Lannie

Whooohoooo Lannie! ;D Sounds like a nice mare. Goodness she sounds like a gaint horse! I have problems getting on a 13.3 hand fjord. Rich will have to practice a lot but will sure get him in shape if he isn't already. Take pictures when you get her home,, I want to see her!! Wish you were closer,, that would make some cute pictures,, me on my wee horse and you on your giant one!

Sheesh, I'd be afraid to ride with you for fear of Wind stepping on your wee little horse! Anyway, I don't think I'll be riding Wind. Aiesha is the jealous type, so I'm going to have to be really careful about how much attention I give each one of them. Even after 17 years, she would still nasty-face me and threaten to kick if I rode Raj or Shadow. I guess I'm stuck with her and she with me! ~Lannie P.S. I would have given ANYTHING last night to have had a camera when Rich was getting kisses (on the lips!) from the filly! It was the cutest thing I ever saw in my life! Maybe they'll do it again, and I can get a picture.

<LOL> Funny. It would be like Wind trying to step on a cat!
Hear you about the Jealous types. Dyfra is not aggressive about it but she doesn't like when Dustenai is taken out and not her. Had son Ride Dusty bareback in the round pen today to help him learn balance. After, I got on because I am not that great riding Bareback. Should of seen the look I got from Dyfra! Then she turned her butt towards my area and pouted. Was funny.
Yes, if you get those pictures of Rich and the filly please post them!
