OMG, she is beautiful!! She looks so fluffy!! Wonder how fluffy she will get when she gets a winter coat on her? lol I bet you are walking on cloud nine being able to be out there with all your animals.
You know I expect horse pictures every so often...they always make me smile.

Aww, she's so pretty and shiny! How many hands high is she? I love that mane & tail! Is she going to be a brood mare in time or is she just a pretty pet? I bet she was pretty as a foal! I'm glad you finally got her home; I know you've searched for her for a long time.

Right now she is 13.2 hands tall...so tall for an Icelandic. She should top out at 13.3 hands tall. For the next couple of years she will just be a pet. ;D Most important job in the world! Well, as a youngling she was rather an ugly duckling. When I saw her just before I bought her....boy had she changed!! She went from ugly duckling to a beautiful Swan. But most important is she is sweet, loves people and has a good mind! After a couple of years of getting to know her, I was thinking to breeding her to Kalman. Just once. Here's Kalmans web site. www.sandmeadow.com/kalman.htm

Wow, I missed these before! She's really gorgeous, Bergere! I can literally FEEL that mane and tail. I'd have to be out there combing her several times a day... that's just gorgeous. Congratulations! ~Lannie

Thanks Lannie! I know in time, as with every equine on the place,, I will be able to get her mane and tail longer and thicker!! I put Cowboy Magic in it to help keep it from tangling up. Here is she sporting her new rainsheet. I put rain sheets on the riding horses to keep them dry and keep the clay that is impossible to get out when wet, off. Saves their coat and my tack.

Very stylish! I like the little tail piece on that. I've never seen one of those. Aiesha likes to rub her butt on trees to scratch, so she always has a fuzz of broken hairs at the top of her tail. One of these would probably keep that from happening, but she's a wild child and doesn't like any kind of blanket or sheet on her. She'd probably rub through the tail piece, anyway! I know you won't believe this (I didn't either), but I found her blanket one day out in the pasture (this was back when we lived in Tualatin), still buckled and the straps still attached. I have NO earthly idea how she managed to shimmy out of it, but I bet it would have been something to see! Living here, with the super cold winters, I don't use a blanket at all. When I did (at first), all it did was mash down her fuzzy winter coat and she ended up colder than if I hadn't put the blanket on, so now she goes naked all year and does just fine. She likes it better that way, too. ~Lannie

That is one good thing about frozen ground,,, no sticky clay! Ah...she sounds like that Appy I had. Put a sheet on him,, he would simmy out of it....and toss it around to scare the other horses. He had great fun doing that. Of course I boarded him at the time.....and the other boarders were not too please about him scaring their horses. Was funny though!!
