Rode Dyfra this morning and she was good. Starting to gain weight though...so much for keeping her in good shape.
Then of course Dusty is too......ah.....well..........
So today is the day I would put Frey in the round pen. All the others horses totally ignored her. Sigh ~ ~ Left her in there a couple of hours.
Gave up waiting and let her out. Kept Frey's halter on just in case (used to be Dusty's breakaway grazing muzzle set on the smallest holes).
Donkey thinks she has found her new boy friend. <rolling eyes>
Dusty did what I knew she would but it was a lot less violent than it would of been if I had put Frey out with the Fjord the first day she got here.
Dusty let her have it good with both barrels and she is not kidding. I stood by just in case it got really bad. Dusty will back away from anything if I give her a cue.
Frey did the OK<,, OKKkk your the boss...she really look confused for the horse rearend whooping she got (this kind of fighting is not what Icelandic's normally do). Then the She ran around and played. Tolt, nice round canter and then Gallop.... and into a flying pace. She was screaming at pace in the long stretch of pasture. Gads... she could be a fly pace race horse in the future.
Though....will have to get much better at riding in a few years before I will ever ask her to do that!
After she got to play and blow off steam,,,they have all be happily eating in the smaller pasture.
It will be a week before she can go out with the others in the main pasture. Still to much grass for her and she is not used to it.
So all in all everyone is doing good.
Once Frey's shoes are off, I will introduce the minis. Until then they are back in their old pasture.
Oh, just looked out the window Dyfra and Frey are giving each other good scratches...which is really cute. Salt and pepper. ;D
Pictures of course. Not good because my camera doesn't like to telephoto that hard.
