usually 260... but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he went to 300 I like big hams.

He is a nice healthy pig and he's sure growing quickly. I bet he'll ship by Christmas if not sooner. ;D

Oh, he'll definatly be gone by Christmas!! Only trouble is... I live in an area that literally shuts down for deer season. EVERY butcher shop is closed to beef and hogs (and everything else BUT deer) from mid-November till mid December! So, if he hasn't reached 260 by November 12th..... he has to wait another month. I'm sure he won't mind, and the hams will be a tad bigger, but dern it! I'm getting impaitient for fresh sausage!!! Kaza[/size] ~Just another day in paradise~

Ohhh I can hardly wait!! lol I pondered getting another batch in Dec... but think I'm deciding against it this year ..... I do like these Herfords tho.... pondered breeding them actually. Kaza[/size]

Kaza[/size] [/quote] You know, there might be some decent profits from breeding them and selling started piglets. I know in KY and even here in AR, it's darn hard to find a piglet and if you do, many times they're inbred and runty. I like the sounds of those Herfords; temperment seems nice and the growth rate is very good! Plus they're cute to look at! Are you going to be smoking your own hams or do you have a locker plant that does the smoking for you?
