I got 2 new piglets yesterday. Scarlet and Rett.  Will post pics tomorrow. Too tired tonight. Been canning maters, freezing green peppers (chopped) and cooking/freezing squash. Not to mentioon cleaning the WHOLE building the chickens are going in and getting their space ready. Nighters! Kaza |

They're cute! I love little pigs and these two look very healthy. Rett is dashing in his tuxedo coloring! |

You guys are so lucky, I haven't had the ability to raise my own pork for 4 yrs now and I really miss homegrown bacon & pork chops.  I know they're a lot of work and expense to raise but the quality is so much better. If either of you were closer, I'd see about setting up a contract for you to raise a hog for me. |

Wow, they sure have grown!!  What do you feed them- a commercial mix or a homegrown recipe? I'm curious because I hope to raise a couple in the next year or so. At this rate, these will be ready to process by January! |

I get the feed from the Amish. I'll have to look at the bags and see what percentages they mix.
They are currently on the "Grower"... soon to be "Developer" and finish them off on "Finisher"
I'll grab a tag and look (when I can remember) My memory latley is about as long as a flea fart.

Awww. Now I want pigs again.
We used to feed our pigs alot of leftovers from our friends restaurant. Once she had half a sheet cake of red velvet cake left. They tore into it and looked up at us with icing on their noses and red dye around their snouts. I still smile when I remember the way they looked.
