La FlecheThese birds were bred in the French province of La Sarthe as general purpose fowl, for both eggs and meat. They can be distinguished by their large white ear lobes and V-comb. They also have long wattles that hang well down the neck. Traces of a crest sometimes occur. A c*ck may weigh 8 to 10 pounds. The color, including that of the legs and feet, is always black. It probably carries the blood of both Crevecoeurs and Black Spanish. La Fleche are reputed to be slow-maturing fowl. They are also known as good foragers on open range, happily traveling over large areas. La Fleche also are found as bantams. www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGK/LaFleche/LaFleSPPA.html

I am always truly interested in book knowledge as well as first hand knowledge. I believe that you are someone with quite a bit of knowledge (i think you write stuff on another board)
So, here are my questions.
Have you ever raised this breed? if so what did you enjoy best about this breed? What least?

Hi,
Oh, I just love doing research. ;D
No, I have not raised this breed but knew someone that did. He they had outstanding flavor, like most French chickens do. Did not say much else about them.
