I am not 100% sure. I looked on Feather site to double check,, but they do not say which chicks are which. Had Barred rocks in the past..but I honestly can't remember. www.crohio.com/rockclub/Know this doesn't help at all,, but time will tell. Please post pictures as they get bigger. ;D

I've had barred rocks, and when they are little they pretty much all look the same. About 3-4 months, the males have yellower legs though, but that doesn't help you now. I do have a way you can sex chicks if you are interested. It's kind of disturbing when you first do it, but we have found that it really works. Here is how..... Pick a chick up and turn it around so it's backside is facing you, and gently blow (like you are whistleing) on it's vent. When it puckers (the vent, lol) look to see if it looks round or oval. The round vent is a male, and the oval looking vents are female. Now, you can't just look at their vent's because well....if you have seen one vent you have seen them all. You have to blow! It helps if you have numerous birds to compare what they look like after blowing, that way you can really see that there is a difference. We sexed all our chicks like this after my Granny told me this is how they did it in the old days. Our feed store use to have me do it to the chicks there, so they could seperate the chicks. It's highly accurate. Probably more info then you needed or wanted, but you have to admit it is interesting!

lol, I am so glad you did it!!! I've told people on other boards and they always thank me, but have never told me it worked, so I don't think they even tried it. It is easy, and I figure if you have ever had to pick pasty rears with the chicks....blowing on them is a breeze. I'm glad you got two boys, sounds like a nice assortment of barred rocks.

I just aquired 26 chicks of four types, and wondered about how they sex them. Thanks for the info. but, are you sure that's legal?

Hey, I do it the lazy way. Just wait for the combs to grow. It is about 90% correct. Largest combs are normally the roos. ;D
