Have been loosing broody hens left and right for the last two months. They would go off and we could not find them at all..but I know they have been killed by predators. Finally found one with her eggs. Caught her put her in a big Kennel with her eggs. The first egg just hatched! We now have a very cute chick! Am so happy!

We ended up with two baby chicks and they are doing great. Lets just say this hen can't count and let the other eggs get cold after 1 chick hatched. Chris saved the other one once we figured out what was going on. First time we have ever had this happen.

I'm glad the first little one has a friend! ;D Some hens just don't seem to be the best mothers. I had one who hatched out a whole clutch but after they were all dried off, she went outside and ignored them. I ended up brooding them out since she just abandoned them.
