I got my guineas from Ralph Winter at the Guinea Farm and I was VERY happy. Ordered 30, got 31 and they were all alive and kicking. My neighbor took 20 of them, which were later all eaten by a raccoon, but my 10 (we had to cull one that got injured really bad in a pileup) are getting big and noisy and doing great. They were relatively cheap, too, only $2.25 each. Some of the other hatcheries wanted upwards of $4.00 apiece for guineas.

The Brahmas I got were from Welp Hatchery (through the feed store) and they've all done well, also. Arrived alive and unscathed, even though they spent 3 days in transit. The only problem was out of 12 that I ordered 2 are roosters, and one I think might be one of those hermaphrodites. She looks like a hen, but acts like a rooster, and when they're out free ranging, both roosters gang up and chase her all over the place. I don't know what the deal is there.

Anyway, in my limited experience of dealing with 2 hatcheries, I can recommend both of them, especially Guinea Farm. What a nice guy Ralph is! ;D

Bob, it seems like IA is one of the main hubs for Hatcheries!
I noticed a lot of them are in your area.

How's all of your poultry doing?

I have had very good luck with Privetts black mottled d'Uccles.
Excellent Quality, very healthy chicks.

Holderreads has some outstanding water fowl, much better than any hatchery out there.

Murry Mcmurry.... last buy from them wasn't a good one. Wasn't impressed at all.
