 something is beheading my chickens and also eating some back and shoulder portion of the chicken. What is this??? Any ideas.

I've always heard that weasels eat the back and heads. Basically they eat the chicken alive until it dies and then leaves it.
Hope you find out what is doing it, so frustrating when things like this happen!

Not raccoons-they eat the gizzard and breast area.  I'd say either a weasel or a skunk. Could you put a trap out; after putting all of your chickens in for the night? Just be sure no dogs or cats are out.  |

I'd say a weasle because the only time I've seen a coon eat only the head was when it would reach through the wire and behead them. Sorry about your chickens.

Wharf rats can do it but they usually just eat right up the hind end. I'd say weasel...
