I have a white (not black/white) Boston Terrier, 8 years old she is my spoiled rotten baby.
I also have a Cockatiel that is 10 years old. He can talk whan he want to and do a few tricks. Growing up we had hampsters, rabbits, dogs, cats, and a goat. I am the only on that had any thing to do woth birds. We always had some kind of pet or another.

My precious little babe is named, believe it or not, Kitty Cat. I adopted her the very end of October when she was just 6 wks. old. Actually, she was intended to be an outdoor mouser, but she was so tiny, I just didn't have the heart to cast her out in the blustery weather. Now I am thankful I didn't for she is a sweet little companion. People get a kick out the fact she won't come to the usual kitty, kitty thing people always do with cats, yet just say Kitty Cat or Precious Girl in the right voice, she meows and comes running. Deb

We have 10 cats( about half a rescues in one form or another); 2 dogs(a sheperd cross and a shitzu); 2 rats; and a bunny all indoors.
Outside we have wildlings visit our patch of all shapes sizes and needs. We let them come and go as they please, try to keeps the dogs from chasing anything furry, and try to keep them out of the garden. So far the squirrels spend a great deal of time ignoring all my fences and scarecrows.

I have three 6mo old kittens! ;D Twinkle, Cleo and Leo-all females and named before I got them at 6 wks old. Poor Leo was misnamed-someone wasn't good at sexing kittens! ;D They are all greyish tabbies but all three have the neatest spots on their bellies! All have faces that look more like bobcat kittens than house cats! Hmm, the way they attack & destroy things does make me wonder about their heritage!

Kathy-With three kittens in the house, you have some great entertainment! Hmmm, Pets? Two dogs that somehow became indoor dogs over the years. First dog is a Australian Cattle Dog, she is 8 years old and pretty much babysat my kids as they were growing up. Second Dog will be 2 years old this summer, she is a mix...Australian Shepard and corgi and, and, and... Five "fixed" cats outside that drive me nuts. They were suppose to be barn cats that loved to live in the hay and keep the mice down. Unfortunately they like the front porch better...err...I should say the door well better because I always have to kick them out when they dart into the house! Oh, all the cats are orange! The rest of the animals here are for food.

I might be getting a puppy!!!!!
A friend had a litter of pups last year, and I was in love with them all. She's (well her dog is) going to be having another litter soon, so I told her if any look like weiser, to let me know. ;D (picture a brindle rottwieller)

One of our inside cats is named Brat! for a very good reason! He is also called various names, depending on what he has done that day! Inever meant to get another inside cat, but his mama brought him and his two litter mates up to the house to show them off. I picked him up and said, "Well, arent you the brat!" Later mam led them off, but Brat turned aorund and came back to the porch. We never saw his litter mates again. Mama had to finish raising him on the porch because he wouldn't leave. Her name was Jock (misnamed -thought she was male until she got preggy!)
More later......

We have two outside dogs, Smoky, a Rottweiler mix and Sugar Baby, a chow mix. They have a better insulated house than I do! Their house sits on a covered porch attached to the feed shed. There is a good sized pen for them to run in. In the mornings they come out, at dusk they are put up. If no one is home or we are busy inside, they are put up. That way they don't wander and get into trouble.
We have 6 cats.
Miss Kitty outlived Chester and Mr. Dillon. She is a 12 year old red head, with a lot of white in her fur now. She objects to the other cats even existing. She comes into the kitchen and looks at her dish until we feed her. She loves cheese as a treat and sleeps in Momma's chair in the living room. When she is ready for bed, she will sit and stare at Momma as if to ask her if she plans on watching TV all night or what?
Sammy (short for Samson) is a Siamese (don't tell thrillbilly, he eats Siamese when he wants oriental food) and around a year and a half old. He is the boss. He became the boss one day in the kitchen when Miss Kitty slapped him and he just sat there and told her not to do it again. She did anyway and he knocked her for a loop. He does not allow the other cats to bully the old lady though - when he is aware of it. He takes an afternoon nap on my brothers bed, but he sleeps on our bed or on the sofa at night. He makes the rounds each evening to make sure we are all in bed where we are supposed to be.
PB (short for Pretty Boy) is another red cat. He is 2 years old. We actually gave Sammy to him as a gift when he showed up because Miss Kitty was so mean to him as a little kitten. He lets me know when the litter boxes need to be emptied. I think he has finally gotten the message that I am NOT cleaning them more than once a day. As an FYI, there are four. He sleeps on our bed.
Salem is a tortise shell. Female about a year old. Tiny, but the boys don't bother her because she will whip their butts. She sleeps on our bed part of the night, in the hall part of the night.
Spot is another redhead but with white markings on the chest and a white spot on her back. She is very playful and it takes both PB and Salem to wear her out. Sleeps on our bed.
Fluffy is a black and white longhair. She is a bit standoffish with the other cats, but adores Momma. She sleeps in the kitchen or in Momma's room, dances on her hind legs whenever a can of any type is opened (and is always disappointed if it is not for her whether she is hungry or not).
Since I spend most of the day on the computer writing, the cats are in and out of the office. They love the roll top desk and file cabinets.

More on Brat! He puts teeth marks in anything and everything. Every one of our blinds have teeth marks on them. My DH was sitting in a business meeting and happened to look at his shoes. There were teeth marks on them. He just likes to bite things. (The cat, not the DH!)
Brat also likes to sit in our closet and meow for some reason. He'll do that for about 20 minutes and then go to sleep.
He wakes up very slowly and doesn't know where he is. He'll sit with his tail curled around him and stare into space. We realized that his father must have been Q-Tip, an outside cat because Q-Tip would come up from the barn and sit in our driveway exactly the same way. One day Q-Tip disappeared and we figure that something caught him while he was waking up.

Oh, another Brat bad habit. He used to like to go to my sewing room and find the pin cushion. He'd pick out and spit the pins all over the place. What a joy!

Twister - Looks like a Red Bone. She has thyroid problems and is going blind. So she gets eye drops and a "treat" ( pill in a piece of Salami ) twice a day. She is a gnarly azz B*tch. Growls & snaps at any dog coming even close to her space. Never have been able to break her of this. She has been this way since a pup. Her eye drops are Cyclosporine 2 % Ophth Soin, 10 ml & her thyroid pill is Levothyroxine 0.5 mg Tablets. Hondo - Plott. He hates to be hugged & loved, not unless he comes to you. At the same time, he hates being Left out of things. He wants to feel special. Funny dog. He is a black brindle. Cleo - Rhodesian Ridgeback. She just turned a year old this month. She was given to us with her sister Kenya, they were litter mates. Kenya we just had to put down about 3 weeks ago, due to very bad hip dysplasia. Born with it. Cleo is taking Palaflex. I need to get her in to be X-ray for hip dysplasia. She weighs about 110 lbs if not more. Jingles - A beautiful old world Black & Tan. But absolutely worthless as a hunting dog. She should have been a show dog. Tried to breed her to a Red Bone, but she wouldn't take. Got her fixed. 120 lb house dog. Technically, she is my dog. Holly - Black & Tan & Lab mix. She was given to me. She has hip dysplasia. She can't be hunted due to her hip dysplasia. She was born with it, but hers wasn't as bad as Kenya's. She is my dog. I will probably have to be putting her down some time in the near future. Her hip dysplasia is getting worse, and she is starting to really lose control of her bladder. Thank Gwad for pee pills ( Proin 50, chewable tablets ) She is also on Palaflex. Rug - Airedale, Walker, Bluetick cross. He's a love. He loves to smile and talk to you. He was just diagnosed with hip dysplasia. He is now on Palaflex. Rug is all the guys favorite dog. Xena - She is a Lion Matthes hounddog. Yep, that is the proper name. She is a strawberry blonde. A lot of personality. Her face looks a whole lot like a Pitt, but there is lots of different types of dogs in her. She likes bringing you toys or sticks or anything really. She will stand there and whine and get her tail and azz end just a goin, till you take what ever it is she wants to give you. Some times she wants it back, other times she doesn't. Funny, funny dog. Pebbles - She is a mix. She looks like a Red Tick. She has one blue eye and one brown eye. Built for speed. Just a good dog. She hangs in the background. Great to cuddle with. Echo - She is a Walker. She was given to us. All houndmen love the looks of her. Pretty little dog. She just got a shoulder operation. She had what we call the "duck paddle". Where they swing their leg out in sort of a circle. The tendon has to cut so they will quit doing this. She is doing much better now. But still favoring her front leg. She went on her own little run about with Pebbles and did something to her front leg, and did a great job of messing it up. The vet did the best he could, but she is still not as good as I would like her, but it's only been a month or so since her operation. Ruby- Ruby is a Walker. She is the old lady of the bunch. She was given to us. She never has learned how to get love. She will jump in your lap and give you her azz end. Strange. She is just a good dog. She hates hunting in the dark, and will quit hunting once it becomes dark and go back to the pickup. She is losing her bladder control and she is on Proin 50, chewable tablets. She is starting to get a whole lot of grey hair going on. All our dogs are fixed. The smallest weighing 45 lbs to the heaviest weighing around 120 lbs. And they all think they are lap dogs. And they ALL get to come in the house. And every last one of them dig. I clean all the time.

You gave such good descriptions of your dogs Juju! I hadn't read your posts, which is just silly of me since I posted on this thread awhile ago. I am always forgetting to bookmark threads that I have posted on, so I can keep better track of them. Years and years ago when I married dh, he had a pure breed Rhodesian ridgeback. She was called Kenya too, lol. Beautiful dog, and very very loyal. Very scary loyal to other people. ;D
