Is there such a thing, otherwise I am going to feel really bad. My little Kitty Cat is approximately 4 months old. When my college daughter was home over the Christmas holiday, she announced the little girl was missing a front tooth. I was worried so I that same night got on the internet. The Purina kitten site says, and I guess I never thought about it...That kittens do loose their baby teeth, I believe they called them Milk Teeth. Lately, though, I notice this chewing phase...wants to chew me, chews the laundry when I am folding it...Yes, she has ample toys. I suppose it's no different then back when I used to sweep up puppy teeth on my hard wood floors. It said most kittens swallow then so you never visably see the teeth. I mentioned this to a friend a couple wks ago already...They said you are dreaming. I said, No, I read it on a legit site...All mammals shed their first set of teeth. Is there anything I should be doing to help her through this time? She is such a sweetheart. Deb

Most of our wooden furniture is chewed on the corners from teething kitties. I guess I've just learned to ignore the chew marks but you should see the looks on people's faces when they see the upper corner of our 6ft armiour(sp) chewed to pieces, lol.
You could try rubbing catnip into a toy or piece of wood. She might get attracked enough to chew it instead. You can also try to find honeysuckle twigs. Apparently cats are as fruity about those twigs as they are about catnip. I've seen them at any of the big pet supply shops and online.

Mine are close to 6 mos old and now they've started chewing everything in site! I kid you not, I was hauling in groceries and those little buggers were chewing the labels off cans! They also like to munch on the painted corners of a wall such as were a doorway is located. I have teeth marks where paint used to be! Luckily, these apartments are new enough; I don't have to worry about lead paint!

I am not sure how this works but a friend of mine once got her kitten a baby's teething ring to chew on. She kept it in a plastic baggie in the fridge when the kitten wasn't using it. That was a long time ago so I don't remember the details.
Anything is worth a try.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences. Now I don't feel quite so alone. I was just hoping she isn't totally abnormal. Deb
