Alright lets confess! What are some ways we spoil our pets? Besides giving mine way to many treats? Since she was 6 weeks old I have gave her a bath, but while I am giving her a bath I have a think towel in the microwave getting warm for her! She will get out of the tub and run to jump on the couch because she knows she is going to get the warm towel. She Will lay thee beside me and snore for about an hour. (As I watch a movie) How do you spoil you pet, come on we all do this.

We spoil our pets a great deal. Goldie the doggy sleeps on a padded heated bed as does the inside cats. I made pillow cases for the beds so they can be changed weekly.
I will save table bones until I have a bag of them in the freezer aling with odds and ends. I will cook that in a crockpot in water andgarlic all day or night. I thendrain out all the broth and give the outside cats the solids. I skim the fat off the broth ( now gelatinous) and freeze it in containers. I use it on Goldies food because the vet said the gelatin is good for his joints.
Goldie gets a RAW small soup type bone once or twice a week because it's good for his teeth. Cooked bones are too brittle and he gets compacted.
We actually put an old wore out recliner in the old garage for the outside cats and put some old rags and blankets for them to snuggle into.

Spoiling Kitty Cat...Her favorite treats are bites of my whole-bagel and cream cheese...bites of grilled cheese sandwiches, and cut-off cheese...she prefers Swiss, just so you know. I actually never ate breakfast before I got her. Plain bread won't do, for there has to be a morsel of cheese on each bite. In fact, when I say "treat", she goes running to the kitchen and will stand there meowing. When she hears the toaster go down, she practically starts panting. She loves those Greenie Treats for felines, but her favorite treat in the world...lightly salted peanuts. Yes, I bite each in half for her so her little teeth can handle them. Like a little kid at a candy store. Toys...Sometimes I look down at my floors, and think if someone walked in here, they would probably think I was running a daycare center. The worst thing I get teased about...When I work outside, or leave whether overnight or just for a quick run to town, she has a black plastic dishpan with bedding in in sitting on the lamp table in my living room. I leave the lamp for her when I leave. It's what I call her warming pan. People driving by probably think I am home 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a wk. I am going to have to think of something different since she has practically outgrown it, though. And yes, riding in the front of the truck, not in a box...If that doesn't turn some heads for people always expect to see dogs riding in trucks. Now, I am laughing at myself, thank you very much. Deb

*Big Grin*... it's so nice to read about how others spoil their pets! I don't spoil mine much, but then "we" consider it a basic living condition that Hunter and Ira have access to my bed, that Ira sleeps with me (no room for Hunter here since it's a twin bed), and that they have fluffy dog beds - the lot of which takes up more floor space than my people-bed... that the cats have access to anything and anywhere they please, and that they got their own pet (Rosa the Ratty)... that Rosa the Ratty got a meticulously selected branch in her cage, along with assorted play things fresh from the great outdoors... and before you say, ha! cage! how inhumane!, let's have a look at where she spent this morning: The pets' pet, enjoying a fleecy morning outing... but I'll always insist that my critters aren't spoiled, they're just, uh, kept healthy and happy? Or something like that ;D

Aww, cute rat, Vera! I had one when I was in grade school. Her momma was in a cage in our 6th grade classroom (don't ask me why - I don't know), and had her litter of babies just before school let out. I was one of the lucky ones who got to take one of the babies home after they were weaned. My little Scamper had a cage, but she didn't spend too much time in it. She liked being on the couch with the rest of the family while we watched TV in the evenings. And I took her to school with me almost every day. She would just sit on my shoulder during class and was very well behaved. I gave her some of my lunch during lunch break, and during P.E. she stayed in my gym locker (wire mesh). I do remember a few times that people would scream if I made a fast move in the hallway, and Scamper's tail would fly out from under my hair for balance! No one saw her sitting under all that hair until she stuck her tail out! Ah, those were the days! ~Lannie

I guess I am more strict with my pets than I realized. They do have little sweaters for when I buzz their hair off... And they love me They're as well-behaved as cats are capable of being. /VM

Let's see...I order their food from out of state... they get raw beef bones... Baloo (my 9yr pyr) gets special treats & their treats are only organic chicken...they own the couch...there are an extra 3 beds because they like to get up and switch at night...all of mine (2 danes, 1 pyr) think they are lap dogs and they're right...
The cat...has her own condo in the attic...rules the dogs....treats are fresh kills and is allowed to eat them...
The chickens... get all of the leftovers...I will actually go pick grass for the ones in the pen...they each have their own eating station and when things aren't just so, they tell me and I make it right.
The goats...get all of the leftover fruit and bread...and peppermint...brushed every day...
The pheasants...well, ok...so I just don't eat them.

The pheasants...well, ok...so I just don't eat them. Don't do that to me, you had me laughing so hard I peed my pants. ( besides go into a coughing fit, I have the crud right now, with a bad cough ) We'll all 10 of our dogs get to come inside. I'm always buying chews, bones, hooves, ropes, stuff animals, anything really that they can play with. I have quite a few dog beds ( all with slip covers that can be washed ) I also put a futon out on our porch laid flat so the dogs have a double bed to sleep on outside. They all have their own dog house, but never use them. There not on a chain and get the run of the place. They sleep in bed with us ( always changing the bed, besides moping the floor ). I don't know, they are just well cared for. They free feed, so they get to eat when ever they want, and they have a couple of water troughs to cool off in, in the summer. They get to hunt which they were bred to do, and life is good for them. They are all fixed, and have regular check ups by the vet. All our animals are well taken care of. My life revolves around my animals. My life is NOT my own, cause of my animals. That goes for the ducks, chickens, cows and sheep when we have sheep. The wild quail are multiplying, so they just might get eaten ( over a 100 ). Pigeons that come in, shoot to kill & not for food.
