When I got home from work last night my dog acted like she didn’t feel good. I walked in the kitchen and I seen why!
I had a big bag of dog treats on the table under newspapers. She somehow managed to get the bag in the floor with out anything else on the table falling in the floor. The big bag of dog treats were in the middle of the floor chewed opened and about ¼ of the bag was gone! I guess she thought she hit the jackpot!
I wasn’t sure how many she ate (she ate a lot!) so I called the emergency vet. They suggest I make her throw-up and told me how, but I already knew. She never did throw up. But I was up and down all night because she had an upset tummy. She is better this morning. I sure didn’t think she could get on the table!
I guess I will start keeping things in the cabinet or refrigerator

She must have thought you'd left her a really big Valentines present. ;D I'm glad she's ok, although I'm sure you spent a worrisome night. Our son & DIL's dog Boomer got into the cupboard and ate 3, yes 3 complete boxes of Little Debbie Cake Rolls! They were at college when he figured out how to open the door. They were so concerned because of the chocolate cake and coating but Boomer is a strange dog and luckily he never even got an upset tummy. They called the vet as soon as they got home and found all of the wrappers-hidden in the couch cushions -and the vet said if it had been sooner it might be helpful to make him throw up but she doubted it would do any good since he had probably eaten them 4-5 hrs earlier.

Wouldn't you like to have been a fly on the wall to see how your little angel managed to get the bag off the table so delicately? (A really big fly with a long-range spray bottle of water, of course.) All I can say about pets is: It's a good thing they're cute. /VM

Funny you should post this..... just found out that one of the cats has a love of Pringles potato chips. She can hear the can rattle from any place in the house and come running. Today she got a can off the kitchen table (big no-no) and when I found her with it under the chair, she had just managed to pry the lid off. I don't know how long she worked at it, but I think she was dissappointed to only get 1 chip after I took it away from her.

Sounds like she was testing that theory. My cats are not into chips but they love cheese! When I make chips and cheese, they all line up and meow so loud I give in just to shut them up!!

Only have the one that goes for potato chips, one that loves milk, one that loves cheese. Most of them will eat 'people meat' but the Siamese refuses anything but cat food.

One time I had a 10 turkey breast on my counter. I was getting ready to put it in the oven. It was still in the bag with the little handle. I left the room for just a minute and then I heard a thud. I ran in and my 10 lb. cat had dragged it off the counter and halfway into the living room!

Waaaaay back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, and I was single, I had a boyfriend coming over for dinner and had set out a couple of nice steaks on the broiler pan, which I put up on top of the stove to wait while I made other stuff. When I went into the living room for a minute, the cat jumped up and stole one of the steaks. She ran with it hanging down between her front legs (just like a lion with a kill), straight into the spare bedroom, which I used for storage. I had a heck of a time getting her to give me that steak back. Of course, I only had TWO of them, so when I finally retrieved it, I rinsed it off and made sure I gave it to my boyfriend. I was a BAAAAAD hostess! I figured what he didn't know, wouldn't hurt him. ~Lannie

This is turning out to be a funny post! This is not the first time my dog has pulled something like this. I had a bag of chocolate candy on my ironing board once and she somehow got it down. I had to give her something to make her throw up. That was a night also! Lannie that is funny about the steak!
