So guess who couldn't "just say no" to a baby ferret... ;D Introducing FINNEGAN, or Finn for short, in all his just-got-done-napping sleepy glory on Marchwind's shoulder: Is he the cutest little guy ever, or is he the cutest little guy ever?? You choose - but I can tell you right now that he's the cutest little guy ever

Uh-oh... keep trying, ok? That picture site seems to be slow today, but the picture is there and the link works too.

It works! It works! I don't know much about ferrets but...aren't you afraid he'll dig your eyeballs out with his claws while you sleep? Aside from the badger claws, he's adorable! I especially like his little pink ears. And he looks so watchful - I bet he doesn't miss a thing. How are the other animals doing? Are they curious about him? /VM

LOL! No, he doesn't claw people, and he doesn't bite either (although he certainly has the equipment for both!) And he needs to be in his cage unless I can watch him, because he fits through very small spaces. In that picture, he looks as sleepy as he was right after his nap - "watchful" would be a bit different, but when he's watchful, he moves too fast for pictures ;D Here's another one of him with Marchwind: First he kissed her, then he checked out her glasses, LOL! Ferrets belong to the same "family" as weasels and skunks, so they're predators... Finn acts and looks a lot like a puppy, actually. Except he's much more slinky Edited to add: almost forgot your question about the other pets: they're curious about him, but they don't quite know what to make of him. He's the size of a really big rat (food? toy?), but he is fearless like a dog or cat (not acting like food or a toy), plus he smells different than anything they know. They'll get used to him though... over time.

He's sure is a cute little guy! How old is he Vera? Doesn't March have a ferret also? This should be fun-those two can tag team the cats!! Congratulations on the newest addition to the Northwoods family.

Kathy, he's about 8 weeks old. Marchwind has a ferret named Faye, and yes, they'll get to meet and play hopefully soon! It should be interesting to watch, LOL! Faye rules the roost and the dogs and cats know to get out of her way pronto. The two of them together, they might just send dogs and cats flying (although Finn doesn't yet have the knack to rule with authority).
