3 weeks ago, we gave Nibbles (one of the stray cats we were feeding) away to a friend. 2 weeks ago, they called and said that Nibbles was "missing". I was upset to say the least, and as the days went by, I gave up hope that they would find her. She was such a sweet, loving cat. Well, last night (my daughter's birthday) there was a meowing at the door, I open it up and there she was!! (20 miles or so from where she had went to live) Thin, I mean skinny as heck, and a broken leg that she saw the vet for yesterday..... but alive and "home". So, it seems that she has claimed us, and will be living here forever. Right now, she's curled up on my lap, purring away. Funny how animals choose their people isn't it? She's got a row to hoe with the leg and needing to gain weight and all, but she's so happy now that she's here. [glow=purple,2,300] Kaza [/glow]

Oh sweet! That is incredible, I can imagine how you felt when you saw her at the door!
I love hearing stories like this, that made me smile.

I bet she told you all about those awful people that kidnapped her and took her off somewhere!
Wonder what she will do if the friends come to visit? Bet she hides under a bed or someplace to make sure they don't kidnap her again!

Oh gosh Auntie!!! I opened the door thinking our other cat had gotten out somehow... when I looked down and saw a VERY skinny Nibbles with a swollen and obviously broken leg, I didn't know whether to cry of pain in seeing her that way, or cry for joy she was alive! This is that cat that was in the pic of the dog bed taken over by the cat that I posted a while back in the pets forum.... I took a pic of her yesterday but haven't posted it yet. When she came in, she meowed non-stop (and loudly) for the first hour, I'm sure she was telling us ALL about her adventure! She's been constantly on me, wherever I walk, there she is, when I sit, she's in my lap.... and for the first time EVER, she slept the whole night on me. The poor thing, I just wish I could make it all better right now, but it's gonna take time.

Bless her heart! Have you let the people know that she came home yet?

yes, I called them right after I let her in the door.... I was still crying when I called them. And yes, I did tell them she was staying here, nobody was getting her again.

Sometimes we get "claimed" by animals rather than the other way around I wish her a speedy recovery and I'm glad she's safe and sound! /VM
