The animal kind, not the military kind... I have to tell you, this vet who came to the house to put Indy to sleep is wonderful. So is his wife. I was on the way to town today when the cell phone rang... it was Mrs. Seamann, asking how I was doing and if I'd taken Indy's body into the woods yet (as I'd told them I'd probably do since cremation would have stretched my budget). Told her I was hanging in there and that Indy was "in storage" in the snow until I could bury him at our new home. We talked for a few more minutes, she asked when I was moving, I told her what the estimate was and that they'd get an invite to a housewarming party sooner or later You know, there was no pet vet within almost 70 miles from where I lived in AZ, and the only caring one at that distance didn't make house calls at all. Beyond that, there was basically nothing for 200 miles. I'm just so grateful that we needed a vet here in MN and not there in AZ, and that Dr. Seamann and his wife not only make house calls but are caring, lovely people to boot. I wouldn't have wanted anything less for my fuzzy boy, but I'd have never thought that he'd get it. There's a lot of comfort in knowing that your critters can get good care if they need it.

Sounds like they are wonderful people.
I really like my vet also. I know my dad had a dog that got into some poison once. They called the vet at home at he met them at the place. My dad didn't want to take him (the dog) to the emergency clinic. While they were there my mom said 3 different people came in checking on a cat that was about to have kittens. None of them knew the other was coming. It was also a rainy night.
My dog loves to go to the vet because they shower her with attention. She almost pushes me out of the truck when she realizes where we are.
I am sorry about your dog they are just like family.

Yeah, a good vet is worth their weight in gold...maybe diamonds. I wouldn't trade mine for anything. I'm glad Indy was taken care of by that person rather than an icky one too.

Huntingdon Animal Clinic at Huntingdon, TN has four right now. I've been very happy with them, although the one that handled the emu moved on. The owner has said that he will do what he can, if we ever need him. Not much to worry about with them though.
