I am trying to think of new things I can teach my dog. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?
These are 2 things I taught her recently.
1. She walks with me to get the newspaper in my driveway. As soon as she gets to the paper she sits. When I pick up the paper I say "Porch" she then runs to the porch.
2. I am teaching her to let me go in the doors 1st then her. She is pretty good at this but sometimes she forgets and I make her come back. She will look up at me and wait for me to say O.K. then she will walk behind me.
These tricks are the kind of things I am talking about. She knows all the basic commands but I am wanting to teach her more to keep her mind sharp. You know what I mean?

Sounds like she will be very well mannered!
Are you going to teach her to play ball? Say ball and she finds the ball and brings it to you. Then fetch means to bring something to you.

I have tried to get her to play ball since she was a puppy (different kinds of balls, different sizes) she has always turned her nose up at the balls. Now, I have a friend who has a dog, everytime you see him, he has a ball in his mouth wanting you to play with him.

How about teaching your dog to open up the refrigerator ? Put a towel on the door... Teach your dog to fetch your slippers.

I had a dog that I used to train fun lil things. I duct taped a small length of rope to the back of the TV remote, and when I'd ask her..."Where's the Remote?" she'd go a looking for it, grab the rope and bring it to me. hehehe.... the ultimate "man's dog" I know... lol. (What was that percentage of masculinity I had on that test again?) lol
