Boy do we have ticks this year I've been finding ticks on the cats and dogs for months now, 2 months at least. Yesterday I finally stopped at the vet to stock up on Frontline. I have 4 large dogs and 12 cats, that's a lot of critters to dose. What I do is get the 6 pack for extra large dogs and use those on everyone. It is more than enough to go around all my critters and it sure saves me $$$

That's a good idea. I always bought them each their own pack and boy did that get expensive-especially when I was doing rescue. I wish I'd have tried your idea-I'll remember if I ever get dogs again. I have a new friend-a beautiful, orange and white Tabby Tom cat who has to be the most loving, gentle creature I've ever met. He seems to be the 'apartment complex' cat-he's well fed, beautiful thick coat and well mannered. I call him Chester! He loves me-as soon as he sees me-he's right at the door waiting to come in; he has a routine- eat a can of wet cat food, get a drink and curl up on the recliner for a minimum 3 hr nap!

Since mine was a puppy I have put Frontline on her every month except Dec and Jan when it is cold and she don't go out much.
I hear ticks are really bad here also.

Generally I only use Frontline twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. My reasons are that the Spring one zaps the initial onslot of Ticks, it gets them all. Then when the ticks slow down or die out in the later summer they really don't need much, we just pick them off. Then in the late Fall I does them again before we all close up for the winter. This is for ticks but mostly for fleas. I don't want to get a flea infestation in the house in the winter. We generally don't have much of a flea problem otherwise.
But I also keep in mind that Frontline is a VERY powerful insecticide and I make sure the kids and I don't cuddle up with any of the cats or dogs for at least a week after it has been applied. Even them I try to be careful.
Kathy when you think you may want to do this with any future animals let me know and I'll post the dosages and how I apply it.
I do something similar for heartworm meds too but use Ivomectin injectable 1% given orally once a month.
