This was an adoption rally held this weekend over in Mobile. It's funded by Maggie's Fund. They're a program that gives grants to shelters and works with them on low/no cost spay/neuter programs and moves them towards becoming a no-kill shelter. It's a pretty neat deal. I don't know how many pets got adopted this weekend but it was a bunch.
Those of us that are local and members of BigPawsOnly.com all met up there. Our dogs were the absolute best behaved of any there. We spent quite a bit of time answering the standard stupid questions like...Do they bite? (well, never before but for an idiot, who knows?) What do you feed them? (morons and kibble) Where's the saddle? (Do you REALLY want me to answer that?) Are they here to be adopted? (NO!) (Really, they're mine) (No, at no price would I part with them) And so forth. No I didn't really say these things but I really wanted to sometimes.
Bella was so incredibly good. Usually with snarling little twit dogs she just says Ooo, a squeeky toy! But she just ignored them. Foster and another dane had a few words but the other dane was being ugly and Fos was defending Bella. Then we had a little golden pup that decided to take on the whole contingent and then decided it would be a whole lot more fun to play with everyone rather than fight. All in all it was a fabulous time.
