I completely forgot I told Cricket I was going to post this picture. Sorry, Cricket, I FORGOT! ;D This is Pippin, the wild kitten that adopted us last winter. He's just about a year old now, I think. Anyway, he's fascinated by water (weird for a cat, huh?) and every time I flush the toilet, he runs in the bathroom to watch the water go down. Sometimes, if he sees me going toward the bathroom, he'll run in there, and even if I'm just brushing my hair or something, he'll stand up on the toilet seat and holler at me till I flush it for him. Anyway, I took a picture of it and I thought it was cute! ~Lannie

Now if I just had a video camera. The really funny ones never win anyway, Starfire. It's always the bratty screaming kids or the people who got hurt that win.

lol. Our cat stopped doing that after she fell in. She is so small she had to jump onto the seat to see. Just imagine a very small, VERY disgruntled calico stalking out of the bathroom, dripping water everywhere

Now Lannie, you have to straddle the seat numerous times till Pippin get's the idea that not only is the loo a source of amusement but a good place to make deposits! I want the video of those instructions! BTW, your Pippin looks just like the stray that adopted me in Memphis. I call him Chester and he's the same color and has an amazing amount of curiosity also. ;D

Kathy, when I was younger, my mom had a cat that taught himself to go potty in the toilet. I guess he learned by observing, but we went on a "vacation" one weekend (they were never long vacations - there were 5 kids!), and my mom left Sandy in the house with a full food and water dish and a clean litterbox. He liked outside better, though, and he hardly ever used the litterbox. Well, when we got home, she went in the bathroom and there was Sandy, right in mid-poop! They were both very surprised! But there was the evidence in the toilet bowl. He'd been using that instead of the litterbox. So she didn't bother with the litterbox anymore after that. If he couldn't go outside, he just used the toilet. I've never known of a cat since then that did this, just that one. Pippin just likes to watch the water go down. Sometimes he'll reach in and slap it (to help it along, no doubt), but he doesn't do that every time, so I haven't got a picture of him with his arm in there! ~Lannie
