And I don't know why. It sort of looks like parvo but without the distinctive smell. It also has "worms" in it. I don't want to worm her if she has parvo but if not I'm missing a "window" Her poops are tarry and runny and she's off her groceries. Her gums are pale but otherwise is bright eyed and bushy tailed. I'm calling the vet in the a.m. and I hope it's my vet on call. I don't know what I should do.

I hate it when animals or little kids are sick. Since they can't tell you what's bothering them, all you can do is work with the symptoms you can see for yourself.
Hope April gets better soon.

Sorry I haven't updated before now. April is my little feral B*tch that I brought into rescue. I've been working with her for a couple of weeks so this is really devestating... I just know that she's thinking she was fine until the humans showed up. Well, I talked to the vet yesterday morning and we both agree it isn't parvo. We tend to think it's a whipworm overload. Regular wormers don't kill whips btw. So she offered to put together some panacur for me but I already had some so...She gets wormed 3 days in a row. I mixed up a form of satin ball recipie...Bream cheese, hamburger, and eggs and she ate it out of my hand. a BIG improvement. I think she wanted more but didn't know how to tell me so. Well, she'll get more tonight. And she'll have to eat it out of my hand too. So we are on the wait and watch routine.

Is April a large breed dog or a smaller one? She's one I'd never heard about before. I'm glad it's not parvo, the whip worms sound bad enough.
