These are the rescues I picked up today. They're severly underweight because the "breeder" was tired of feeding them so quit. You can't really see it in the photos but you can literally count every bone in their bodies. I'm supposed to be getting their daddy too. He's a merle...and being used on purpose. This is a HUGE no-no. They have no names, no preventive medical care, no nothing. I could just tar and feather that b*****!

My god Cricket, that is just criminal! Aren't there laws in your state regarding animal cruelty? Wouldn't these guys qualify?

I hate to see any animal even a little underweight, this level of neglect & cruelty just breaks my heart.

ITs people that do that, that give bad names to all pet owners and give PETA and the like the fire power to make sure all people are either restricted or just plan can't own animals.

We have the Gucci law but it's only if someone deliberately tortures one. Neglect is a Class B misdemeanor or a slap on the wrist. "We" are trying to get tougher laws but it'll be a slow process. I looked into having this woman charged but I don't think she will be. I would love to get some press coverage out of it but I don't think that's possible either.

They're doing SOOOOO much better. I think they drank about 15 gallons of water yesterday. And I swear they believe I'm going to take the food away everytime I feed. They're behavior makes me think that's what happened or someone would feed other dogs but not them. This morning they actually left food in the bowls. Not much but at least they were full. They aren't a gaunt looking today either. And the fevers are gone. A little food and some water has worked miracles. I thought I had the male placed but the spouse said no. That's ok cause I want them to get well before they go home with anyone.
