Our pit bull, Niki has will be having surgery Monday. We found a lump on her back leg the size of 1/3 an egg in August and Sept a needle biopsy was done and it was mass cells (cancer) She has her lumpectomy Monday and it will be sent off to the lab to be graded 1, 2 or 3. I'm hoping for a 1 and will settle for a 2. But NOOOOOOOOOO 3 She is only barely 6 years old. This is the dog I adopted from my son who moved east. We've had her 19 months. I cannot imagine what it would be like without her. She is a wonderful dog. I've heard these happen alot in Pits and usually removed with no new lumps later We are doing the pre surgery blood work to makes sure she'll be OK with the anesthesia. Here's my girl, I think I posted this picture before. Her and those sad eyes. That day the rabbit would not cooperate and wanted to bounce away to play. We finally after 5 attempts got her to stay and then Niki decided she had enough and had just gotten scolded to stay. I can see it in her eyes.

Nikita is home and doing fine. Groggy and out of it, but fine. She sure looks pitiful and hates that elizabethan collar. Will be about 2 weeks before we have the report back on the lump.

I'll be holding good thoughts of a positive outcome. She's a beautiful dog!
