We had a thread going before christmas about IF our pets receive gifts. Thought it would be fun to say what they got. Any gift that they just love, hate? Our two older dogs get mostly food gifts because they don't play with balls. Except tennis balls, which my mom bought them peanut butter flavored tennis balls. They didn't treat them any different then a regular tennis ball though. Dufus on the other hand got showered with gifts from all the relatives. Funny how the biggest dog acts like a foo foo dog with toys. He got some squeaker toys, which he loves to squeak. His favorite is a alien looking one that is super soft latex that is padded with a squeaker. Funny story here...The dogs got this big tub of "Pup corn" it's low fat so the dogs won't get fat from eating it. The pup corn is in the shape of poodles and orange. Well, my brilliant hubby opened them up and popped a couple in his mouth and says "Dang..this is the worse popcorn I've ever tasted." We started laughing and told him that it was dog treats. He says that it says popcorn on the tub! We had to show him that it said pup corn, not pop corn. I guess the poodle shape wasn't so obvious to him!

Lucky got a full pound of pig ears- he loves those. Not all at once of course but he sure had fun for about a week. Oh, he also got a new leash and a couple of super duty tennis balls-he can destroy the normal dog tennis balls in under 10 mins. So far, he's got the fuzzy layer off the Super Duty's but the ball is still intact. OMG, that's funny about your hubby & the pup corn! As long as he doesn't start chasing cars you should be ok. I bought a small bag of that pup corn for Lucky but he turned up his nose-picky little goomer!!

Homie aka HoHo got a tow truck looking chew toy that he nearly has into pieces already, a new collar and leash, a hoodie, and a bag of treats from the kids.
Bo (the aussie) is too old and lazy for toys and doesn't really like any doggie goodies so he got a jumbo milkbone, lots of petting, and a rather generous piece of ham.
The birds got treats and a new ladder.
The fish.................well................they're fish I don't think they would know the difference.
I got my mom's dog a squeaky octopus that she is terrified of and hides way back under the sofa so she doesn't have to see it lol.

Lucky is terrified of any squeeky toys. So that limits the options for gifts. I tried buying a squeek toy and taking the squeeker out-that just left him a start point for chewing it to bits. So I think he may be fine around chickens & the other farm critters-he's timid around anything that squeeks, peeps or makes noise (other than humans).

Our oldest is like that with squeaker toys, just hates them! The only thing she liked to chew were lego's and the little plastic army men the kids would leave laying around, lol.
I really don't know why our dogs like that pup corn, it looks like colored styrofoam!

I just discovered one other thing that Lucky loves-the raided leather zipper pull I had(note the Had ) on my insulated flannel jacket. I guess he didn't know the difference between a couple of hanging rawhide strips on the jacket and his rawhide chews. He must have munched them off during the night-the coat was on the coat rack and those things were just dangling there enticing him, calling his name..

Bachelor got a bone-shaped toy made of a heavy terrycloth-looking material. The center part of the 'bone' contains a squeaker and has a few turns of rope over it to sort of armor it. Good thing, since Bachelor is an accomplished master at getting the squeaker out of his toys. So far it's holding up well.
Pepper got some consumable chew-thingies shaped like large bones. He has no interest in toys, so he's happy with his bones.
Bbird - re: your husband's sampling of the 'pup-corn'. Nothing like a handful of dog munchies to top off your day! I can just see it. I once heard of a party hostess who was in the process of feeding the dog and being interrupted as she was getting the can of food onto a plate. When she returned to the task the dog's food was gone and her guests were complimenting her on how good the pate' was! Question is, do ya tell em or not?

Love the popcorn story! Has your hubby started barking? LOL
My baby got a new bed with a pillow inside of it. But she doesn't like the pillow inside. She likes the pillow out. She kept getting the pillow out (it goes it the bed more like a cushion to make it softer), so I just took it out and put it in the kitchen floor. When ever I am in the kitchen she will come in there and lay on the floor. Well, she likes it in the kitchen, and she will lay on it there. Guess I got 2 beds in one.
She also got greenies, and other toys.
